Cross Country

Cross Country is only run in the Easter Term and is compulsory for Grade 3 through to Grade 7. Training takes place three times a week culminating in the Inter-House Cross Country in which all grades participate, including our Kippers. The Kippers run 1 km, the junior age groups from Grade 3 to Grade 5 run 2, 17 kilometres, while our seniors run the 2, 7 kilometre course. From this event our school team is chosen. The team participates annually in the famous Lilfordia Three Woods, the Digglefold Falling Pines events and our own Ruzawi Invitational Cross Country, which is renowned for being one of the most picturesque courses in the country.

Annually we host the Mike Taylor 10 km “marathon” solely for the Ruzawi family (pupils, staff and parents) on a voluntary basis. This is always a gala event where great fun is had by all. The younger children (Grades 1 to 4) and less fit adults run a 3 km event which takes place concurrently.
